由普通名詞構(gòu)成的專有名詞前面需要加定冠詞the，普通名詞有它本身的含義，例如moon，加上了the約束普通名詞功能上才等同于專有名詞，US、UK也是同理。

國家名稱前加the的情況

1.國名里帶名詞

（1）美國：the United States of America=the U.S.

（2）英國：the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland=the UK

（3）俄國：the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics=the Soviet Union或the U.S.S.R.

（4）中國：the People's Republic of China=the PRC

2.國名是復數(shù)

（1）荷蘭：the Netherlands

（2）美國：the United States of America=the U.S.（States是復數(shù)，所以也可以歸在這一類）

國家名稱前不加the的情況（是單個國家的名詞，不加定冠詞the）

（1）China

（2）Russia

（3）Japan

（4）Italy
